PARENTS BIBLE STUDY GROUP BEGAN SEPTEMBER 24th: Parents of children aged birth to 18 are invited to participate in a new Bible Study Group which started on September 24, 2008. The group will meet on Thursdays during the Children and Youth Choir rehearsals. We are beginning with "Parenting the Way God Parents". Feel free to drop in, it is not too late!ST. PAUL LEADERSHIP TRAINING IN OCTOBER HAS BEGUN: The "2008-2009 St. Paul Leadership Training" began on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. We will meet for four (6) sessions. All members are invited to participate in this opportunity for discipleship. All leaders are expected to participate. Please sign up in the Church Office. WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY RESUMES: On Wednesdays starting this month. You will be challenged, engaged, and inspired by our study of the book of "Revelation". Our study begins at 7:00 p.m. No pre-registration is required. Just bring your Bible. If you would like to join us at 6:30 p.m. for a light supper, please sign up in the Church Office. COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY ON WEDNESDAY MORNINGS: On Wednesday mornings, please join us at a Bible Study from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Pine Ridge of Montclair, located at 60 Glenridge Avenue. All are invited and welcomed. Class will be taught by Deacon Gabriel Slater and Sis. Adele Vick. ST. PAUL FAMILY SUNDAY SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 14th: Children and adults of all ages are invited to attend the "Sunday School Open House" on Sunday, September 14, 2008. Come and find out what our Sunday School Classes offer to support your spiritual growth and better your understanding of the Bible and its meaning in your life. Adults are encouraged to attend class with their child(ren) or to join one of our Adult Classes. We look forward to seeing you at 8:30 a.m. SUNDAY FAMILY BIBLE STUDY CLASS FOR MARRIED COUPLES: It has begun, St. Paul is offering a new Sunday Family Bible Study Class that is offered especially for married couples. The first class series is titled "Growing Together in Christ". Join us at 8:30 a.m. And don't forget there are Sunday Bible Study classes for everyone! Come out and be edified and blessed! WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY: Join us again for Bible Study starting on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. There are two (2) offerings each Wednesday evening. Min. David Anderson continues a new bible study opportunity focusing on the Passion, the Life, and the Resurrection of Jesus and what it means to us today. Also, "Living a Spirit-Filled Life: Making Space for God" will continue with Min. Sam Pendleton. WEDNESDAY EVENING CLASS FOR YOUTH: Youth are invited to join our Wednesday Evening Bible Class, an exploration of the Bible through scripture reading and discussions on applying the teachings of the Bible to real life situations. A light supper will be served. Class starts at 7:00 p.m. MINISTRY LEADER'S TRAINING HAS COMPLETED: All ministries leaders who have completed the "Leadership Training for 2007-2008" in April, please check in the Church Office with Sis. Jennings to pick up your "Leadership Training Certificates". WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY GROUPS FOR 2008: During the month of February, two Adult Bible Study Groups are offered. Min. Sam Pendleton is leading a small group study on "Living a Spirit-Filled Life: Making Space for God" where you will develop ways to spend time in devotion, no matter how much or how little time you think you have for spending time with God. In a new group study titled, "Recognizing and Appreciating Spiritual Gifts", led by Sis. Elaine Cody, we will explore how to know the gifts God has given us. Participants in this group are asked to stop by the Church Office to pick up the "Spiritual Gifts Assessment" and complete it in preparation for this week's gathering. SPBC FALL LEADERSHIP TRAINING HAS STARTED: All church leaders are asked to mark their calendars for a 4-week leadership training conducted by Pastor Michael J. Cox, which will be held every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. it began on October 10, 2007. Individuals who are interested in contributing their gifts and talents to building and strengthening the ministries of St. Paul Baptist Church are invited to attend. Join Min. Sam Pendleton and Deacon and Deaconess Griffin in the Faith Weaver Adult Class. This class brings families together as each week adults talk about the same Scriptures as their children are learning in their Sunday School Class. These Bible lessons will spark meaningful family conversations about faith and life. The class meets in Billups Hall each Sunday at 8:30 a.m. SUNDAY SCHOOL IS FOR EVERYONE: St. Paul Baptist Church's Sunday Morning Family Bible School offers children and adults an opportunity to learn and grow in their faith. Most classes meet every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m., before Sunday Worship. The Young Adult class will meet following the morning Worship Service, and a light lunch will be served. DAILY BIBLE READING PROGRAM: During May, Spiritual Discipline Emphasis Month, we encourage all members to set aside time to read God's Word daily. It is never too late to sign up and join fellow members of our congregation in a discipline of reading the Bible daily. Choose from the following programs: A Moment With Scripture - Pre-Selected readings from the Old and New Testaments; Lamplights - Read the New Testament and Psalms in 12 months; or Read-On-Your-Own - Record your Daily Readings. Each month, drop off completed coupons recording your readings in the purple Bible Reading Box on the table in the hallway in front of the Nursery. CHILDREN'S CHURCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: A special children's worship and learning experience is offered during Sunday Worship Services (except on 2nd Sundays). Please volunteer to assist.
