HELP PREVENT COLDS & FLU: The
Health Ministry is asking all St. Paul Baptist Church Members and Guests to help prevent the transmission of the virus that causes the common cold/flu or any other infectious microorganisms. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. You can cough in your upper sleeve not your hands if you have no tissue. Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds using soap and water, or use alcohol based hand cleansers until you can get to wash your hands. Thanks for your cooperation. Please avoid holding, hugging, or kissing others when you have a cold.
BLOOD DRIVE - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 20th: The Health Ministry and Men's Ministry in collaboration with The Blood Center of New Jersey are hosting a blood drive for Minister David Anderson on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Billups Hall. All blood types are accepted.
Minister Anderson needs the following blood types: B+, B-, O+_, O-; however, other blood types can be used for platelets.
It is recommended that donors eat before donating.
If you are unable to donate on 12/20, please contact Renee (973.676.4700 ext. 127) or Nancy (973.676.4700 ext. 133) at The Blood Center or Nadia (973.996.4819) at the Hackensack Medical Center to schedule an appointment.
OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH: Join the
"Taking Back Life Ministry" for two events designed to bring awareness to the problem of domestic violence. During the Worship Service on
Sunday, October 5, 2008, Minister Dr. Gwen Parker-Ames brought attention through a passionate message. On
Saturday, October 18, 2008, from
10:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. join us in
Billups Hall, for a continental breakfast as we take an experiential
"Walk In Her Shoes".
SEPTEMBER IS SICKLE CELL DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH: September is
"National Sickle Cell Awareness Month". As our children go back to school, the
Sickle Cell Disease Association of America wants us to reflect on the children and the adults whose lives, education, and careers are affected by this disease. This observance originated in 1975, when the Association and its Member Organization began conducting month long events to call attention to sickle cell disease and the need to address the problem at national and local levels.

Sunday, February 17, 2008 immediately following morning Worship Service, the
Health Ministry will offer blood pressure screenings in
Billups Hall.

HEALTH SCREENING FOR WOMEN: The
St. Paul Baptist Church Health Ministry is pleased to announce
Women's Health Screenings on
November 16, 2007 from
8:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. for a cost of
$20.00, and it will be
free to those over the age of
60 years! The health screenings provided by the
Montclair Health Department will be held at
200 Claremont Avenue and require an appointment.

Osteoporosis is a very important health issue for all women. All women over 40 please take the time to fill out the important
Osteoporosis Survey by
Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Pick up the survey in the church office. Please fill out all of the answers and return the survey to the office by
