| A Letter from the Pastor |
|
Greetings, Welcome, to the St. Paul Baptist Church website. I am especially glad you decided to visit us. St. Paul represents a community of faith where congregants gather to commune with God, affirm their spirit and transform their souls from secular stagnation to spiritual gratification. That’s pastor speak for we are a place where your spiritual journeys can be discovered, nurtured and renewed. I believe that one of the most essential ways to attain spiritual gratification - renewal, recommitment, deliverance, healing or salvation - is through prayer. Without a doubt, prayer IS power and it brings change into our daily lives. St. Paul is a proud church family that puts prayer first and realizes the manifestation of its purpose. Prayer also enables us to strengthen our resolve and communicate our individual and private struggles, shortcomings, transgressions and inabilities to face certain inevitable events. I believe that God is working through the St. Paul community and directing our paths in pursuit of a strong and personal conviction. When you meet with me in my office, you'll notice the Bible is centered on my favorite scripture - Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Yet the sacred road we travel, seeking grace and mercy, is often filled with challenges and despair despite the tools that we were given to undertake this Christian journey. Nevertheless, we realize that by praising and uplifting God's matchless name, blessings will flow and our journeys will be fruitful. St. Paul is a community of faith that celebrates and welcomes the journeys of all people - singles, families, seniors and young adults - into our Christian experience. Furthermore, we encourage a sacred and united partnership with the Lord, as we covet a "real" worship ritual with one another as one body in Christ. It has been said that St. Paul is "the place to be". Many have said this because of youthfulness, progressive ministries and cutting edge style. Well, I know all those things are true. But going forward I want to see that changed some. I want St. Paul to be known as "The Place to Become : a believer in Jesus; a committed disciple of Christ and; an externally focused community of faith." This is a church family that is different and unique from any other. So, I encourage you to join a ministry or become more active in your current one. I implore you to come join and support us if you are not already a member. I'm convinced that you'll love the people you meet, the music you hear and the messages you receive. But, more importantly, I pray that you'll discover what God has in store for you and that you'll accomplish more than you've ever dreamed possible. ![]() Sincerely, Michael J. Cox |
