CHURCH & SANCTUARY ETIQUETTE
PROCEDURES FOR MAKING APPOINTMENTS:  Any member or person desiring to see the Pastor and ministerial staff or who requests an appointment must schedule such appointments with the church secretary, Sis. Carole Jenkins.  No one should go to the Pastor's or ministerial staff office without first checking in the office with the secretary.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

MEETINGS All groups or ministries holding meetings in the Church or the Christian Education Building must schedule such meetings "24" hours in advance through the secretary in the Church Office.  This is for security purposes.  Thank you for cooperating in this matter.

CELL PHONES IN THE SANCTUARY All members and visitors are requested to turn off their cell phones (you may put them on vibrate mode), prior to entering the sanctuary for Worship Services.  This is one of the ways in which we show our reverence to GodWe thank you in advance for your cooperation.

HEALTH CONCERNSIf you are in need of assistance during Sunday Worship Service, a member of the Health Ministry is located in the rear of the sanctuary.

PSALMS CHRISTIAN BOOKSTOREThe Bookstore is open following morning Worship Service.  It is located at the end of the hall to your left when exiting the sanctuary.  Attention one and all:  Are you someone who is an avid reader?  Do you have retail experience?  If so, your services are needed in the Psalms Christian Bookstore.  Please stop by after morning services for more details!

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY
ImagePARENTS BIBLE STUDY GROUP BEGAN SEPTEMBER 24thParents of children aged birth to 18 are invited to participate in a new Bible Study Group which started on September 24, 2008.  The group will meet on Thursdays during the Children and Youth Choir rehearsals.  We are beginning with "Parenting the Way God Parents".  Feel free to drop in, it is not too late!

ST. PAUL LEADERSHIP TRAINING IN OCTOBER HAS BEGUNThe "2008-2009 St. Paul Leadership Training" began on Wednesday, October 8, 2008.  We will meet for four (6) sessions.  All members are invited to participate in this opportunity for discipleship.  All leaders are expected to participatePlease sign up in the Church Office.

WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY RESUMESOn Wednesdays starting this month.  You will be challenged, engaged, and inspired by our study of the book of "Revelation".  Our study begins at 7:00 p.m.  No pre-registration is required.  Just bring your Bible.  If you would like to join us at 6:30 p.m. for a light supper, please sign up in the Church Office.

COMING OF AGE YOUTH MINISTRY SERIES
All youth, grades 5-12, are encouraged to register for the SPBC Coming of Age Youth Ministry Series.  Registration flyers are available for the C.U.S.H. Ministry for 12th graders, the 91011 - Take Faith Ministry for grades 9-11, and Ambassadors for Christ Ministry targeting 5th through 8th graders.

WILLING WORKERS MINISTRYThe next Community Service Event is Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.  We will pack food and clothing for families in need.  This activity is open to high school students; please sign up today and hand in all forms as soon as possible.  Stop by the Church Office for the complete schedule of events.
MEN'S MINISTRY - 2009 EVENTS & PLANNING MEETING

JOIN THE MEN'S CHOIR - REHEARSALS BEGAN SEPTEMBER 21stThe Men's Ministry is calling on all men of St. Paul to be a part of a choir for the "Men's Day Celebration & Worship Service" on Sunday, December 7, 2008.  Choir rehearsals will be held each Sunday in the Sanctuary following Worship Service for "1" hour, it is still not too late to join.  We have CD's of the songs for you to listen and practice on your own between rehearsals.  No prior choir or singing experience necessary.

CHILDREN'S WORSHIP SERVICE
ImageIMPORTANT CHILDREN'S WORSHIP INFORMATION:  Children's Worship is available each Sunday (except 2nd/Youth Sunday).  This ministry enables our young children (PreK-4th Grade) to learn about and worship God.  If your child attends Children's Church/Worship Service, please remember that it is important that we check your child in and out.  Check-in occurs between 9:45 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and check-out is immediately after Church Service ends.  If your child attends Sunday Bible School, please let the teachers know if they will stay for Children's Worship, indicating any food allergies.  Over the next several Sundays we will provide registration forms so that we have up-to-date information about your child (Name, Age, Grade, Allergies, Parent/Guardian Contact Information, etc.)

WE NEED YOUR HELPWe NEED volunteers to lead and support our two classes (PK-1st Grade and 2nd-4th Grade), as well as assist with check-in/check-out and snack time.  If your child(ren) attend Children's Worship, we especially NEED your support.  If you simply enjoy working with our youth, we welcome your participation in this ministry.  By supporting Children's Church/Worship Service, you are supporting our entire St. Paul Family.  For more information and to sign up, please contact the Colberts at .

Please take a look at Our Photo Gallery!  Additional photos have just been added from the "SPBC Golf Outing 2008" and "The Sunday School Open House"!  The pictures are put in order of the event date, so you might have to go through a couple of pages in the Photo Album to see all the updated Albums/Pictures.  Also, please excuse the tardiness of the pictures being posted.

ImageThe SPBC Baptism Pictures for 2008 are now available for downloading.  All you need to do is double-click on the picture under "Our Photo Gallery", double-click on the picture of the first album titled "SPBC Baptism Pictures 2008", and search for your picture.  When you have found it, using your mouse "right click" on your picture and a menu will appear.  Select "Save Picture As...", and you can save the picture to your computer under any name or location of your choosing.  After the picture is on your computer, it can then be printed out on picture quality paper using your printer, or copied to a disk and taken to a professional for processing.

COMPUTER CLASSES AT ST. PAUL - RESUME
ImageCOMPUTER CLASSES RESUME THIS WEEK IN THE COMPUTER LAB:  Computer classes have begun.  We offer two classes per week, on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  The course is designed to introduce students to Microsoft Office.  Students will complete exercises in the following areas:  word processing (Word), presentation graphics (PowerPoint), spreadsheet preparation (Excel), and database management (Access).  The lessons are designed to challenge both the beginner, as well as, the advanced user.  This Fall Semester will focus on Word and Excel.  Each component of Office will be covered through 12 sessionsSpace is limited, so please sign up in the Church Office, if you are new, or continuing from the Spring Semester.
HEALTH MINISTRY
ImageHELP PREVENT COLDS & FLU:  The Health Ministry is asking all St. Paul Baptist Church Members and Guests to help prevent the transmission of the virus that causes the common cold/flu or any other infectious microorganisms.  Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.  You can cough in your upper sleeve not your hands if you have no tissue.  Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds using soap and water, or use alcohol based hand cleansers until you can get to wash your hands.  Thanks for your cooperation.  Please avoid holding, hugging, or kissing others when you have a cold.
